Market Sizing
Size a market bottom-up and top-down, see where the two disagree, and get every assumption with its basis and its source. The arithmetic is computed on our side in Python; the model writes the analysis around it and cannot restate it.
The engagement brief
The numbers are computed on our side in Python. The model writes the analysis around them and cannot restate or adjust them.
Questions this playbook raises
- Why size a market two ways?
- Bottom-up starts from the client’s own customers, price and penetration rate. Top-down starts from the total market and an assumed share. When the two agree, the number is defensible. When they disagree by more than a quarter, one of the assumptions is wrong — and the playbook says so rather than publishing the mid-point, which is a number nobody can defend.
- What is a penetration rate?
- The share of the target segment the client would realistically serve. It is an assumption, not a measurement, and it is shown next to the number with its basis. A penetration rate above 50% of the segment is flagged: it is a very strong claim and needs its own evidence.
- Is the market sizing playbook free?
- Yes. It needs no account, and there is no limit you will hit in a trial.
- What if I do not have the data yet?
- The playbook tells you what is missing, what it would cost to close, and what the answer is worth. It does not fill the gap with a plausible number — an unsourced market size is the one number a client takes apart in the meeting.
